It's probably in our genes. Those who create want to make their mark -- even when they are asked not to do so.

When Harbour Lights contracted with a southern California artist to sculpt the first 17 lighthouses for the new line, Artist "C.R. Curtis" managed to sneak his name onto at least three of the sculptures:

Above the windows on the back of HL103 West Quoddy ME

On the rocks next to HL116 Castle Hill RI

Under the eves of HL106 North Head WA

Another artist left the initials "MC" on the rocks below HL164 Pemaquid Point ME

"MC" also managed to squirrel away his or her initials below a shrub on HL155 Bald Head NC

When HL501 Point Fermin CA received some minor modifications, "MC" also appeared below the grassy knoll.
