Cockspur Island GA
Harbour
Lights #508
Built in
1849 in Savannah, this stone tower marked the south channel of the Savannah River.
Currently part of the Fort Pulaski National Monument, the historic sentinel was almost
destroyed during the Civil War. In 1998, this lantern room was destroyed during a
hurricane. Plans are underway to restore Cockspur Island lighthouse.
