Burrows
Island, Washington
Harbour Lights #108
Located in Puget Sound,
Burrows Island lighthouse was first lit on April 1, 1906. Of wood
frame construction, it stands 34 feet in height. Its light is mounted
on the top of a house-like structure, which is actually the fog signal
building. The keepers were very isolated on their island, and welcomed
the lighthouse tender when it arrived every eight months to bring
supplies and fuel for the generators. This quaint little light,
snuggled into Burrows Island, has served continuously since 1906.
